THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS GIFT OF ALL

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16)

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord”. (Luke 2:10-11)

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

Herein lies the true message of Christmas, a message of hope for a humanity eternally separated from a Holy God by our sin and unrighteousness.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Rom 3:10).

“And there shall in no wise enter into it (Heaven) anything that defileth…” (Rev. 21:27).

Well, we and our sin-contaminated neighbors would defile Heaven if we were allowed in. And, if that were the case, Heaven would just be another place of sin, much like earth and not Heaven at all.

But rejoice, for the Baby of Christmas, God, in Christ Jesus, stepped out of eternity and came to earth in human form to live and die as the only sinless, thus worthy sacrifice to fulfill the law and pay the price for the pardon of our sin debt.

I don’t know who first wrote the following words, but I like them, as they well convey in summary form the meaning of Christmas:

“He came to pay a debt he did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay.”

If this short message clicks true to you, repent and believe this amazing “good news” of debt paid and sin forgiven as a gift to all who will repent and believe this message of good tidings of great joy. Well, that’s the message that began at Christmas some 2000 years ago. What you do with it is up to you.

If you are already a Christian, please download, print and Pass This On to someone who needs to hear its message. “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…” (Psalm 107:2).
