What is The Bottom Line? The Bottom Line underscores the most important issue of life: The question is: Where will you spend Eternity? Every member of the human race has a problem, and that problem is “sin”. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8) With that, we must understand the nature and standards of God. The prophet Habakkuk makes clear those standards when he speaks these words: “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity…” (Habakkuk 1:13) And then, the apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Hebrews, clearly tells us: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment…” (Hebrews 9:27)
So, as I mentioned above, we have a problem. We must get rid of every trace of our sin past, present and future if we hope to avoid Hell and dwell for eternity with God in Heaven. We can’t do it on our own, “as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Rom 3:10) but Christ could and did pay our sin debt for us if we will put our full trust in His worthy, substitutionary cleansing sacrifice.
This is the good news on how we can get rid of 100% of our sin contamination, which is necessary to ever enter the pureness and holy presence of God. “…So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Hebrews 9:28). “For he hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21). “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7) “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
You probably know this next verse but please take a moment to think slowly and seriously about what it says. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Jesus also said: “…if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24) Thankfully, you do not have to die in your sins. Trust the one who paid your sin debt in full if you will truly repent and believe the good news of His cleansing innocent blood sacrifice on Calvary’s cross for each of us, including you.
We have written a book with hundreds of proofs that the Bible is reliable and really is from God. You can get a free online version of this book: “Is The Bible Really From God???” Please go to http://www.freebibletracts.org/Documents/BibleFromGodBook.pdf. There you will be able to read, download or print a free PDF version. If you are willing to even slightly open your eyes you will see the proofs presented and I think you will be convinced the Bible is reliable, preserved for us to this day, and truly is from God.
Please understand that this world is but a testing ground for where you will spend eternity. That’s how God designed it and that is how it is. The very reason you exist is to fellowship with God in the pureness of His holiness in Heaven for eternity if that is your desire.
“Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” (James 4:14) Don’t waste the opportunity to repent and believe while you still have time. Some may not like this, but Jesus himself said: “… I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6-7). That includes for those who are a part of other religions or no religion at all. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)
We also have a short two-page article “God’s Plan of Salvation for Man”, also free on our website and available in 19 common languages. www.freebibletracts.org/Documents/God’s-Plan-of-Salvation-for-Man This article is condensed and packed with information and Bible verses showing exactly what you must do to be saved and invited to spend eternity in Heaven with God. Now might be a good time to check it out while you are thinking about it.
The more we see this world spinning out of control, the more urgent it is that we focus on the eternal things of God, and if we are already a Christian in our efforts to help as many as people as we can to do the same.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
The two-page article on our website will help you clearly understand the benefits and the cost of your commitment to follow Christ.
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,” (1 Timothy 2:2-6)
That ransom paid includes the full ransom for the debt you owe for the sins you have committed! “…Right now God is ready to welcome you. Today he is ready to save you. (2 Corinthians 6:2b)
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)
