Statement of Faith
There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His sinless shed blood as a full payment for their sin. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.
The Holy Spirit is a divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin and righteousness through believers, and of judgment to come.
The Old and New Testaments are inerrant as originally given and are the preserved Word of God. That said, all must be warned that there exist many corrupt Bible translations on the market today. Therefore, we pray you will not take lightly your responsibility when choosing a Bible translation for your personal use.
Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God: he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through faith in the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment; and that of the believer, in everlasting joy, peace and purpose with God.
Even though the following verse may be uncomfortable, it is, nevertheless, what Jesus clearly says and what we believe. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 (see also Acts 4:12)
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men who repent and believe in Him. Believe means to trust in His atoning sacrifice on the cross to pay for our personal sin and inborn sin nature. Those who do so are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.
It is the will of God that each believer be progressively sanctified through the power of the Holy Spirit unto good works after receiving the gift of salvation by grace through faith plus nothing.
The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the head of the body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel -Good News of sin debt paid by the sinless, thus worthy sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary's cross to all who believe by faith from all nations.
The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, for fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.
The Resurrection of the Church to meet the Lord in the air is the Blessed Hope of the Christian. We lean with an eschatology that says the rapture of the church will precede a 7-year period known as the Tribulation, however we are not dogmatic against an eschatology preferring a "mid" or "pre wrath" rapture of the Church. Following the Tribulation Period, the Lord Jesus Christ will come to earth a second time accompanied by his saints and will establish His thousand year reign upon the earth.
Some Scriptural highlights or memory verses for the battles that lie ahead for the true "Church of Jesus Christ":
For spiritual discernment in the Church, believers must try the spirits and prove all things, whether they are from God. (I John 4:1-3; I Thess. 5:21) Christians must look only to the Word of God as the foundation for sound doctrine, rather than trusting in men, experiences, church membership or other means of their own understanding. (Prov. 3:5-7; II Tim. 3:16,17; Jer. 3:15, 23:28; II Pet. 1:20) Pastors, teachers and other leaders of the true Church will not be deceived and follow the emergent, progressive, non-Bible believing ecumenical crowd, but will warn and protect the flocks which are entrusted to their care and for which they will one day give an account. (I Pet. 5:2; Acts 20:28; Heb. 13:17; see also Jer. 23 and Ezek. 34) We must pray and work, that those who are false prophets, teachers and pastors, posing as Christian leaders will be exposed, reproved, and their false teachings rejected because not doing so puts the unsuspecting in harm's way of being sucked into the flames of eternal damnation. (II John 10; Titus 3:10,11; II Tim. 3:8,9; Eph. 5:11)
We believe in the mysterious paradox of "predestination" and "free will" as both aspects of God's sovereignty are supported by several hundred Bible verses. We do not disfellowship with those who hold varying degrees of understanding on this issue. On some things we must admit and can only say: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (1 Cor. 19:12)
